Before You Rent

• Minimum age: 21 years old (30 for Vans & SUVs)

• Valid physical driver’s license required

• Rental starts at the booked time

• Full payment and security deposit required upon pickup

• Return the vehicle with a full tank

Renter Responsibilities

• Submit all required documents on the rental date.

• Follow all applicable Philippine driving laws.

• The renter is responsible for any penalties from violations.

• Rental starts at the booked time, regardless of actual pickup.

Rental Requirements

• All required documents must be submitted on the rental date. Failure to comply will result in reservation cancellation.

• The company may request additional identification for security verification.

Eligibility and Documentation Requirements

Minimum Age

• Motorcycle: 21 years old

• Small & Mid-Size: 23 years old

• Large: 30 years old

Driver’s License

• A valid physical driver’s license is required.

For Foreign Renters

• Passport with arrival stamp dated within 90 days (inclusive of rental period)

• If license is not in English, provide either:

  • An official English translation, or

  • An International Driving Permit (IDP)

For Local Renters

• Original proof of billing or company ID

• One additional valid government-issued ID

Payment and Security Deposit

Upon Pickup

• Full rental payment is required.

Accepted Security Deposit Methods

• Foreign renters: Credit card only

• Local renters: Cash, GCash, Maya, or credit card

Security Deposit Amount

• Varies by vehicle type (₱2,000 to ₱35,000)

Insurance Coverage Options

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Covers damage to the vehicle body only. Excludes: tires, undercarriage, glass, interior, and personal belongings.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

• Third-party property damage: up to ₱100,000

• Third-party injury: up to ₱100,000

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

• Covers accidental injury or death: up to ₱50,000 per person

• Not available for motorcycle rentals

Rental Duration and Extensions

• Based on a 24-hour cycle

• Extra hours charged at 1/6 of the daily rate per hour

• 6+ excess hours = full-day charge

• Vehicle substitution may occur for long-term rentals due to maintenance

• Notify Saferide for extensions. Unauthorized extensions are a breach of contract

Fuel Policy

• Full-to-Full: Return the vehicle with a full tank

• Refueling costs will be charged if not returned full

Additional Costs

The renter is responsible for:

• Fuel

• Parking and toll fees

• Traffic violations

• Tire damage (including patches, repairs, or replacement)

Late Payment Policy

• 24% annual interest on late payments

• If legal action is required:

  • 25% attorney’s fee (minimum ₱10,000)

  • Legal and court costs

Dispute Resolution

• Jurisdiction shall be under the Saferide branch where the rental originated

Prohibited Vehicle Use

It is strictly prohibited to operate the vehicle:

• Off-road or in conflict zones

• In flooded areas or roads with high water levels

• Recklessly or at excessive speeds

• To transport passengers or goods commercially

• To carry foul-smelling or hazardous substances

• By unauthorized drivers

• For towing

• While under the influence of alcohol or drugs

• For illegal activities or smuggling

• Via sea travel without valid marine insurance

Important: The renter shall be fully liable for any damage caused by driving through flooded roads or calamity-affected areas, even if unintentional.

Fault and Liability

• If not at fault: Only participation fee applies (if covered by CDW)

• If at fault: The renter is fully liable for all damages and related costs

Roadside Assistance

• Available 24/7 within 30 km of the rental branch

• Additional fees apply beyond 30 km

• Not available for inter-island travel

• Fees apply for roadside assistance caused by misuse or negligence

Breakdowns and Repairs

• Saferide is not responsible for delays caused by breakdowns or accidents

• Renter must not modify or repair the vehicle without written approval

• Damage due to negligence is the renter’s responsibility

Inter-Island Travel

• Requires prior written authorization

• Without notice, the renter is liable for all costs resulting from breakdowns or damage during the trip

Personal Belongings

• Saferide is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items left in the vehicle

• The renter agrees to indemnify Saferide from any related claims

Vehicle Monitoring (If Applicable)

• For safety and fleet protection, vehicles may be GPS-monitored. By proceeding with the rental, the renter consents to location tracking for security, compliance, and recovery purposes.

By proceeding with the rental, the renter confirms full understanding and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

 

Rental Period:

The rental period will commence upon boarding or 30 minutes after the scheduled rental time, whichever comes first. The rental period will end at the time specified in the rental agreement.

Inclusions and Exclusions of Services:

All service inclusions and exclusions are listed on the services page and must be observed by the client.

Vehicle Use:

The client agrees to use the vehicle only for the purposes specified in the rental agreement. Any additional usage must be approved in writing by our company. The client and their passengers must wear seat belts at all times while the vehicle is in motion. If the client requires additional usage, they must contact our customer support team to obtain approval.

Vehicle Passenger and Baggage Limit:

The client acknowledges that the passenger and baggage limit for each rental vehicle is subject to the manufacturer's specified capacity. The client and their passengers must not exceed the vehicle's maximum passenger and baggage limit during the rental period. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that their luggage and personal belongings fit comfortably and safely within the designated storage areas of the vehicle. Our company shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to the client's personal belongings or luggage during the rental period.

Insurance:

All vehicles are insured for passenger liability up to 50,000.00 per passenger and third-party property damage. However, personal belongings and luggage are not covered by our insurance policy.

Termination of Agreement:

Our company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement at any time if the client breaches any of the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement.

Company Indemnification:

The client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless our company, its agents, employees, and affiliates, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with the rental of the vehicle or the use of the services provided by our company.

Disclaimer:

While we strive to provide a safe and reliable service, our company shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, or inconvenience that may occur during the rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, delays, mechanical breakdowns, accidents, or any other unforeseen circumstances. The client understands and accepts that they are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their passengers during the rental period.
