What are the requirements for renting a car(Self-Drive)

To rent a self-drive car, SUV, van, or motorcycle from Saferide Car Rental, you must present the required documents upon vehicle collection. Failure to provide these will result in the forfeiture of your reservation.

Here are the specific requirements based on your driver's license type:

1. Age and Identification Requirements

Age Limits: You must be at least 21 years old to rent cars or motorcycles, and at least 30 years old to rent vans and SUVs.
Local License Holders:
- Valid physical Philippine Driver's License
- Original Proof of Billing (e.g., utility bill) OR a valid Company ID
- One (1) additional valid government-issued ID
Foreign License Holders:
- Valid physical Foreign Driver's License (Must be printed in English, OR accompanied by an official International Driving Permit / IDP)
- Original Passport showing an official arrival stamp dated within the last 90 days

2. Payment and Security Deposit

Full Rental Payment: Settled prior to or upon vehicle collection.
Refundable Security Deposit: Required for all rentals. Saferide accepts major Credit Cards, GCash, or Maya.

Note: All original documents must be physically presented on your rental date. Saferide representatives reserve the right to request an additional identification card for security verification purposes.

Does Saferide Car Rental offer vehicle delivery to my location?

Yes, Saferide Car Rental offers convenient vehicle delivery directly to your home, office, or hotel. This service is available for an additional delivery fee, which is calculated based on your specific distance and location. Please contact our support team for a delivery quote.

How to arrange delivery:

Request in Advance: We recommend providing at least 24 hours’ notice to ensure availability.
Short-Notice Requests: We may be able to accommodate last-minute delivery requests depending on current fleet availability; please contact our customer support team directly to check for open slots.

How much is the refundable security deposit for Saferide Car Rental?

The refundable security deposit (or cash bond) for a Saferide Car Rental self-drive vehicle ranges from ₱3,000.00 to ₱35,000.00. The exact required amount depends on the specific car, SUV, van, or motorcycle model you choose to rent.

This deposit is required at the time of vehicle collection and can be secured using a major Credit Card, GCash, Maya, or via cash bond if arranged in advance with our support team.

Can foreign nationals drive in the Philippines using a foreign driver’s license?

Yes, foreign nationals may drive in the Philippines using a valid driver’s license issued by their home country for up to 90 days from their most recent date of arrival.

Important Requirements:

English Language: If your driver’s license is not printed in English, you must carry an official International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official English translation obtained from your embassy or consulate.
Original Documents: You must always have your original, valid foreign driver’s license (and IDP/translation, if applicable) with you when driving.
Staying Longer than 90 Days: If you intend to stay and continue driving in the Philippines beyond the 90-day period, you are required to obtain a Philippine Driver’s License from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Note: While an International Driving Permit (IDP) is a helpful translation tool, it does not serve as a substitute for your primary driver’s license. Always carry both documents together.

What insurance coverage options does Saferide Car Rental offer?

Basic insurance coverage is included in Saferide Car Rental’s standard rates. We provide several tiers of protection, including Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), and Personal Accident Insurance (PAI).

Here is a breakdown of our coverage options and limits:

1. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Coverage: Provides basic damage coverage for the rental car’s bodywork.
Deductible (Excess): Ranges from ₱10,000.00 to ₱35,000.00, depending on the vehicle type. This is the maximum out-of-pocket amount you pay toward bodywork repairs.
Exclusions: CDW covers bodywork only. You are fully responsible for repair costs and administrative charges for damage to windows, wheels, the undercarriage, the interior, electric vehicle (EV) batteries, or personal belongings.

2. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

Coverage: Covers damages to third-party property (e.g., other vehicles) and third-party medical costs for injuries sustained in an accident.
Limits: Maximum coverage of ₱100,000.00 for property damage and ₱100,000.00 for physical injury.

3. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Coverage: Covers accidental medical costs, emergency care, and accidental death for the driver and passengers during the rental period.
Limits: Up to ₱50,000.00 per person.
Exclusions: PAI does not cover injuries sustained by individuals renting motorcycles.

The staff were friendly, and the car was in very good condition. The unpretentious atmosphere of the rental car company was impressive and friendly. I was informed that car insurance was included in the rental fee, but it was difficult to verify the detailed terms of the agreement. The credit card machine in the office was not working, so I had to go to the bank to withdraw cash to pay. The staff kindly guided me to the bank. However, this took up so much time that I eventually had to give up part of my afternoon travel itinerary. Also, a deposit of 10,000 pesos seems too expensive.  Verified Super Service! We rented a car and were on the road exploring Cebu island. The next day we were in Cebu city with dence and hectic traffic - and had an accident involving a taxi car. Our car was not usable. Safe Ride Car Rental took care of all problems within half an hour, report in the local police office, helped to negotiate with the taxi owner and we had a replacement car within a few hours. We decided to rent a car on the spot when we arrived in cebu because we believe that it would be convenient for us in our daily activities around the city. I checked on this SafeRide Car Rental for a possible rent and luckily as a walk in client there was a unit available for us. What amazed me more is the person in charge, I call him Mr. Chris (Hemsworth). He was very accommodating to me and he was the one who looked for an extra car for me. The transaction was fast and quick. As a walk in client, there would be a possibility that I will be denied but he looked for a possible ways to provide what I need.  Verified Good service I used Safe ride car rentals twice in May 2016 whilst on holiday in Cebu! We hired a private driver to bring us from Cebu City to Kawasan falls the first day! I think the drivers name was Marlon, he was really friendly and a safe driver! Safe ride were very accommodating seen as I wanted to leave the city very early to get to the falls early (4.00 am pick up) We had a great time and Marlon was also good at being a tour guide! The second day we did a trip to Bohol! It was well organised with the car to port/ ferry to Bohol/private driver around Bohol all included! The driver we had in Bohol wasn't as chatty as i think he had limited English but that doesn't bother us! Over all I would recommend this company and I would use them again.

 Verified Self drive from Dumaguete We turned up at their office on a Sunday morning without any pre booking (further to a recommendation from our hotel). They accommodated us within 30 mins - the car was in good condition, cost was reasonable and we had no issues at all. Driving in Dumaguete and whereabouts was fairly easy, and we managed to visit all the sites that we were interested in without paying a fortune for private transfers.
